We could actually just send our guests out into the forest to eat. After all, all kinds of green delicacies, real vitamin bombs and surprising culinary delights grow out there.

She is a real multi-talent, our Jana. We are delighted that our persuasion finally bore fruit and that she agreed to a short interview.

New year, new luck. New brooms sweep well. The beginning is half the battle. Shuffle the cards. Are these hackneyed phrases or true words? We think so: We don't have to reinvent the wheel in January, but a fresh start is sometimes a good thing.

"Nature helps me with my work," Lisa always says. As a massage therapist and expert in everything that does you good and makes you beautiful(er), she can draw on a wealth of experience here on the edge of the forest in Vals.

Don't worry, we are not addicted to the kitsch of home novels, but this is exactly how and not differently our breakfast fairies experience their work day after day. It's enough to make you jealous, isn't it? But also, the person for whom our mountain breakfast is intended is a real lucky devil. And there are three good reasons for that.

In spring, we give nature a helping hand. To ensure that everything in our forest grows and thrives as it should, we spend a lot of time in March and April with saw, axe, wheelbarrow and shovel. It's exhausting but wonderful work!

The last biscuits have been eaten, the empty champagne bottles disposed of in the bottle bank and the relatives back where they belong: At home. When the Christmas holidays and New Year's Eve are history, it's time to turn over a new leaf.

We humans have it so good! Sub-zero temperatures, little sun and dense snow flurries can do us little harm. After all, there is electric light, heating and down jackets. And so we can enjoy winter in the mountains to the full.

Sometimes it seems as if Mother Nature knows exactly what we need. Now, in autumn, she gives us another rich gift.

Life may not always be a pony farm. But sometimes we here at Valsegg are quite envious of our farm animals. Because here they are allowed to do whatever they want all day long. C
