It is the result of an extraordinary life story and an unwavering dedication to the well-being of our guests.

How It All Began: The Roots of a Great Passion

The story of Valsegg began in 2017 with a bold vision. In the heart of idyllic Vals, surrounded by dense forests and lush alpine meadows, the young couple Magdalena and Gregor fulfilled a long-cherished dream. They wanted to create an alpine hideaway that combines the comfort of a private home with the luxury of a premium hotel.

The journey was shaped by an exciting dynamic, as Magdalena entered the world of hospitality as a complete career changer. Previously, she had been a successful alpine ski racer. She carried the discipline, precision, and athletic focus from her sporting career into her new life. When asked about this radical change, she recalls with a smile:

“As a ski racer, it was always about seconds, the perfect turn, and winning for myself. Today, it’s about giving people time and creating the perfect moment for them. From the very beginning, I wanted to create a place where nature and comfort become one. When I see our guests leaving after a few days feeling completely relaxed and re-energized, this work fills me with boundless joy.”

Meanwhile, Magdalena devotes herself with endless dedication to the finer details. Her signature defines the elegant interior design.
