Do you know what 'elopement' means? In the past, it was the name given to a secret wedding for two. The couple eloped, often hastily abroad and without the permission of their families. Today, the so-called elopement is definitely a wedding trend. We recently hosted the couple Kerry & George in Valsegg. Read the whole story in the blog and get inspired. Perhaps you too would like to celebrate your wedding just the two of you or with a few friends in our special and luxurious chalets.
A stunning wedding story in Valsegg: a truly special elopement
They married in the middle of the beautiful Dolomites
Preparing for the wedding at Chalet Valsegg
Imagine starting your wedding day in our luxurious, cozy chalets, surrounded by the winter white and the magnificent South Tyrolean mountains. This is exactly what Kerry and George experienced during their unforgettable elopement in Valsegg. The peace and tranquillity of our chalets provided the perfect atmosphere for the couple's special day.
Kerry started her wedding day with a styling session. She wanted to do her hairstyle and make-up herself and just enjoy the anticipation and excitement of what was to come. George went to our in-house gym early in the morning. Then he relaxed at the bath house. Kerry slipped into her stunning dress, her tension rising. It was time for the special and emotional “first look” - the moment when the couple saw each other for the first time. George was already waiting outside - right in front of the chalet, as the first rays of sunshine lit up in Vals. A moment full of romance and excitement which was, of course, captured in photographs. The couple then set off for the Dolomites.
Wedding on the Seceda - stunning views into the Dolomites
The Seceda! What a beautiful setting in the middle of the South Tyrolean Dolomites. The wedding ceremony itself was a magnificent and unique experience. Surrounded by the fantastic panorama and in the presence of a priest, Kerry & George exchanged their marriage promises. The gigantic view and the magical atmosphere made this moment unforgettable for both of them. A few spectators cheered and clapped.
Bressanone's historic center - culture and tradition
But that was just the beginning. The adventure continued. An exciting ride on a snowmobile and a relaxed lunch in a cozy mountain hut followed. Before they returned to the chalet, they wanted to visit the charming old town of Brixen. A walk through the cloisters, a coffee in the Domplatz, simply enjoying the day and letting the impressions work their magic.
Back at Chalet Valsegg, a beautifully decorated table awaited the couple. Kerry & George enjoyed their private wine tasting and the special wedding meal. Last but not least, there was a beautiful wedding cake for the newlyweds. A crowning finale for the most beautyful day in life. This successful elopement was planned and accompanied by @nomadichearts_elopements, wedding planners, wedding photographers and videographers. We have changed the names in this blog to protect the privacy of our guests.
The most famous places for weddings in the Dolomites
In addition to the Seceda, it is above all Lake Braies, Lake Misurina, the Drei Zinnen and the Alpe di Siusi that many couples choose as wedding venues. All these places are in the immediate vicinity of chalets Valsegg. And there are also a number of other wedding venues, relatively unknown.
