Puster Valley Cycle Path to San Candido

Starting in Vals, this easy cycling tour with minimal elevation gain is perfect even for families with children. The route leads toward Mühlbach, where you’ll pass the first highlight: the Mühlbacher Klause, a historic fortress. Following the Puster Valley and the Rienza River, you continue to the charming town of Brunico – worth a stop. The path then leads past Dobbiaco to San Candido and all the way to the provincial border. For the return trip, you can comfortably hop on a regional bus or the Puster Valley railway. A great outing for the whole family.

 

The Rodenecker-Lüsner Alp

From Vals, the tour climbs briefly but steeply toward Rodeneck. From there, the route winds through beautiful forest paths up to the the Rodenecker-Lüsner Alp. A vast high plateau awaits you with wide alpine meadows, spectacular views, and cozy mountain huts. Leisure cyclists can also start at the the Rodenecker-Lüsner Alp parking area and enjoy a more relaxed ride across the plateau. A break at one of the many local huts is recommended!

 

To Europe’s Highest Pilgrimage Church: Latzfonser Kreuz

From the Kühhof parking area in Latzfons, a scenic forest trail leads you past woods, alpine pastures, and meadows to the small mountain church at 2,305 meters above sea level and the nearby mountain hut. Many pilgrims and hikers have visited this unique place with its special atmosphere. Once at the church, you’ll be rewarded with a stunning view of the Sassolungo and the Rosengarten mountains. But it’s not just the view that makes this place so special.

Travel time: 45 minutes from Valsegg to the Kühhof parking area in Latzfons

 

Villandro Alp

From the Villandro Alp parking area, there are countless opportunities to explore this stunning high alpine landscape by e-bike. The route takes you through meadows, moorlands, mountain pines, and across charming wooden bridges. The panoramic views of the surrounding mountains are breathtaking and unforgettable. Ambitious and sporty riders can take the ascent to the Rittner Horn, which includes some challenging trail sections.

Travel time: 50 minutes from Valsegg to the Villanderer Alm parking area

 

E-Bike Tour to Lake Braies

Lake Braies is one of the most photographed spots on Instagram – known for its deep turquoise waters set against a dramatic mountain backdrop. From the Antholz valley, follow paved bike paths and wide gravel roads into the Braies Valley. From here, you can head toward Prato Piazza or the famous Lake Braies. The ascent to the lake isn’t particularly difficult, and once you arrive, the spectacular panorama makes it all worthwhile. On foot, you can also take a relaxing walk around the lake on a flat trail.

Travel time: 60 minutes from Valsegg to Anterselva
