In the world of wine, there are moments when a glass alone is not enough to tell the whole story. It requires the right place, the right light, and above all, the people who have captured the essence of the terroir in the bottle. At Valsegg, these elements merge into a production that touches all the senses. Our natural swimming pond, usually a place of quiet refreshment, transforms into a wonderful stage for "Vintners in the Woods."
Vintners in the Woods: When the swimming pond becomes a stage
Moments of indulgence at the natural bathing pond
Valsegg presents its new format: Vintners in the Woods
When the fairy lights are reflected on the water's surface, the twilight bathes the forest in deep green, and the sound of splashing water underscores the conversations, an atmosphere is created that goes far beyond a classic tasting. It is an invitation to understand wine where it feels most authentic: under the open sky, in direct dialogue with the masters of their craft – the vintners.
"Rooted in Mother Nature, we work towards high, individual wine quality that brings joy to the glass." Michael Graf Goëss-Enzenberg from the Manincor Estate.
Köfererhof Winery: Vertical freshness from the North
High above the historic Neustift Monastery, at the northernmost border of Italian viticulture, lies the estate of Gaby and Günther Kerschbaumer. On just five hectares in an exposed location (700 to 800 m above sea level), white wines are produced here that are considered the epitome of Eisacktal precision. The mountain climate and the lean soils demand everything from the vines, giving varieties such as Kerner, Riesling, or Müller-Thurgau their unmistakable brilliance. Those who love wines with a crystal-clear structure and organic substance found a master of elegant coolness at our wine tasting on April 24th with Köfererhof. Here, you could taste the landscape in its purest, most mineral form.
Manincor Winery: The power of biodynamics
With the Manincor Winery from Kaltern, we welcome a pioneer for whom viticulture is a closed natural cycle. Under the leadership of Count Michael Goëss-Enzenberg, wines are created at Lake Kaltern that impress with their vibrant energy. Biodynamic cultivation gives the wines enormous depth and an almost aristocratic serenity. His wines are multi-layered characters with soul, demanding time in the glass and confidently reflecting their heritage with every nuance. An experience for all who seek the unadulterated and holistic.
Andrian Winery: Timeless elegance on limestone
The Andrian Winery, the oldest cooperative in the province, represents the terroir of Terlan like no other. On the distinctive limestone scree soils, wines mature here that are valued worldwide for their extraordinary longevity and finesse. The style is characterized by a sovereign balance: power meets finely chiseled minerality. These wines are architecturally perfect – clearly structured, elegant, and with an aristocratic restraint that only reveals its full complexity on the palate. A must for connoisseurs who appreciate classic structure and modern precision in perfection.
